Lion Melbourne
Cradle Design, breathed new life into an ageing hospitality venue, turning it into a vibrant state sales office and hospitality space for Lion.
As you walk along the wrap-around boardwalk, the gentle lapping of water against the building’s cantilevered structure creates a soothing pulse to the building. The high-pitched ceilings and exposed services, painted black, provide a striking contrast to the airy, open design. Natural light floods the space, highlighting the sleek, modern workstations and casual meeting areas.
The multifunctional kitchen and bar area buzz with activity, while the adjoining meeting rooms offer a quiet retreat. Step out onto the stunning wrap-around balcony, and you’ll find a perfect spot for informal meetings, with panoramic views of the waterfront that inspire creativity and relaxation.
Acoustic treatments ensure that the high-vaulted ceilings do not echo, maintaining a peaceful environment even during busy times. The new roof sheeting and insulation keep the space comfortable year-round, while upgraded amenities and mechanical systems ensure a seamless experience for all users.
Part of the facility has been sectioned off as a leasable hospitality venue, inviting the public to enjoy the vibrant atmosphere of the waterfront boardwalk. With new access points through the Little Creatures complex, the renovated site seamlessly integrates with its surroundings, offering a blend of corporate functionality and public enjoyment.
What Lion love: “We love the striking green tiles and copper splash-back to the bar. It’s a fantastic feature in our workplace.”
What Interior Designer James Tray loves: “I love the way that Lion prioritises a feature bar in their workplaces. It’s great how we integrated it into the breakout space and is in constant use, love it!”
